Belinda is a Licensed Professional Counselor who truly loves to empower her clients to make heart-level changes that will enable them to see their true worth and purpose, so they can live the fulfilling life they wear meant to live. She brings 16 years of clinical experience where she has focused on helping people at all stages navigate the bumps of life. She has experience in school based services, clinical services, and private practice work. She served as director of Calvary Counseling Center for 6 years and has worked in community mental health for over 10 years.
Belinda started her career as a teacher and has taught at the primary, secondary, and college levels. Belinda’s special education degree was not only rewarding while teaching, but has also been wonderful knowledge to supplement her therapy practice when needed.
Play therapy, Art Therapy, and DBT activities are all a part of Belinda’s wheelhouse. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness activities are other modalities she operates in with great skill. She has completed advanced training in Trauma focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and has had countless hours of experience working with various forms of trauma, PTSD, ADHD, depression, anxiety, couple/marriage therapy, and guiding parents through the challenges of Autism.
Belinda’s philosophy of life is that God has a purpose for each of us. He greatly values all people and He positions the right people in our path at just the right time. Her goal is to make everyone that crosses her path in life feel safe, understood, listened to, and loved.
Belinda has been married for 43 years. She has 3 grown children and 6 grandchildren. Belinda loves living on a farm where she enjoys all the animals, including Murphy, her therapy dog in training. Her highest values are faith, family, friends, church, and giving back. Belinda spends most of her free time with her family, especially chasing grand babies ; attending their ballgames, rodeos, and dance performances. She also loves, music, art, and camping!
She is reminded daily of her favorite verse: “For I know the plans I have for you. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future! “ ~Jeremiah 29:11
